Rock Lock Hybrid Pier System

ROCK LOCK HYBRID PIER SYSTEM - Our Hybrid Pier comes with a Steel Penetrator Tip, Interlocking steel pipes, 6 inch steel transition plate with a rebar post to hold the initial concrete pier. Then holed concrete piers are installed with steel inserts to align, connect and lock the piers together. A top cap is installed and solid concrete piers are set below the grade beam and shimmed with metal shims. These hybrid piers combine the strength of interlocking steel piers with the durability and stability of pressed concrete piers. The steel penetrator tip allows the hybrid pier to be pushed as deep as steel piers and locks into the bedrock. This pier is center loaded, not offset so this hybrid pier provides better stability for the foundation. The steel pipe is interlocked and the upper concrete piers are tied together with steel inserts to help protect against lateral pressure and to prevent shearing. The cost is slightly higher than concrete pressed piers but considerably less than the cost of steel piers. This pier is a great alternative for areas where bedrock is deeper than average.
